This has been discussed earlier the answer was NO moving out.(If u can come up with a php script that transfer members here to a new forum intact in their groups then this can be considered)

Do NOT deviate from what is at hand.

I have said earlier as well test forums based on forumotion is the way to go.

I also asked the code to be corrected regarding the Link To Us block.Pls give me a corrected one.

Clean up all this and concentrate over here.For the past few days this thread has become longer and longer-first new forum deal,then this Dolphin thing and now this.

There's no legal way to move everything anyway.

When the graphics team arrive we should have lots of ideas ready.

For the gfx team to work upon the coders need to know the CSS of forumotion.And for that u need to make a test forum in forumotion.

I don't know what u mean by working around so far we have been working round and round in circles.

Don't expect magic from gfx team,they will only change the looks, all the extra forum functions etc have to be done by coders.


Just take the example of Dolphin,how are we going to put this here.
DarkGhost says we need a host for it,who is going to pay for it?(Wasn't this discussed earlier?)

I told u the only way u can know what can be tinkered here is by having ur own forumotion forum.

I don't much about these things and guys like u know it and therefore can judge and know the possibilities better than me or anybody else.

Pls try to understand.

yep has anyone remembered what theme this is yet and i've made one at aoftest.forumotion.com obviously just really basic theme.

and it says admin but i can't admin anything?

i take it since you've got Admin rank ur suppose to have Admin powers so your problem with no Admin Panel should be fixed in 2 secs.

U have founded it so u will see Admin Panel at the bottom,same here as well,u can see it at the bottom.

Pls don't change anything now,but take a look around and pls fix the code of Link To Us Block,now that u will be able to access the widgets.

I will be sending the code to the support forum maybe they can correct it.

Use this theme-
Black Gold

This the theme for the main test forum as well-

The theme of this forum will be changed to Black Gold as well because it seems to me that the old theme is unavailable.
I have checked all other themes none of them has "AoF Colors"-Black,Gold or orange so we will use this as a temporary one.

This temporary theme will be customized now and on this a new theme will be made.

I have registered in ur test forum as well,techno_kid,the forumotion one,pls install this theme there as well as i said above^^.

I think we can start on major code work now.

After a couple of weeks a Forum Clean-Up will be done with all the old posts(a specific date will be given) will be transferred to Archives Board.
In that all the Admins will have to help.

If u take a look at the first site,their forum is quite good looking,they have changed the way their statistics block works on Portal.

The block is neatly arranged which updates itself on its own with Posts,Days Online,Topics Users separated.
I wonder whether this can be done here.(I think u have to check the Templates and edit them to do this)

What about a Contact Form?Here is a tutorial for it-

But i don't know what we can do with this yet,i was planning to make a common email-id for contact and then members can contact us with any problems through this.
A kind of feedback form.

Also HTML Pages should be made,the ones which don't require any pics from gfx designer.
They would be-
[AoF] Info(Brief history+ current status)
[AoF] Games(description of games AoF plays etc)

The material for both is already here.

Pls make them in test forum first.

We can then think of doing Flash Games that is making an Arcade in forums(I have the tutorial).

Though i will have to say most of the work is regarding changing CSS of forum for new theme.

Therefore suggestions would have to be made for adding extra forum functions other than the ones already made.

Maybe we should get in touch with our grand writers. *cough*Comfort*cough* etc. and get them to write up the information into a more 'AoF' style. maybe get new discriptions of the games wrote up, they can write afew paragraphs on ALC & ACC.

They could write a new discription for Alliance of Freelancers maybe taking the grasp of 'Freelancer' from the idea of an independant worker than to the idea of Alliance of Freelancers directed simply at the game Freelancer. I recommend going to Wikipedia or something and looking up Freelancer as an independant worker and try and bring some meat to the bone of how AoF retains the members independance yet provides them with a safe haven and a sense of home. or whatever the hell you can think of.

On a side note when we do get this update done we should focus to change the information regularly for example like if we added a diplomacy block or some kind of leadership page. keeping stuff upto date is a good idea.

DAM! that first link u gaves nav bar system on the left is WELL nice...

also in one of the Menus u create can u implement a button in for Xfire? its more of a question will u, rather than can u becuase technically its just making a button.

does anyone actually know how they managed to change the text in the portal block at http://www.god-makers.com/login.forum?connexion because the {TOTAL_USERS}{TOTAL_POSTS} tags generate We have 3 registered users or We have 3 messages etc. etc....

lots of ideas for the revamp.hope mine will be consider..nice one

@Ghost-We will create a block for Important Links etc and/or Quick Links.

"Freelancer" in AoF no longer takes inspiration from FL.

Before we make the HTML pages for [AoF] Intro etc a HTML page for Rules need to be made.
Once it is made it will be put below the nav bar by creating an extra link below,kind of like a second nav bar.(Tutorial exists)

The second nav bar will be short and will have the following links-
Forum Rules
Flash Games/Arcade
Chat/Music (or add anything else)

Buttons will be made for that as well and it will be smaller than the nav bar.

@techno_kind-If you are reading this,can u reduce the width of the Link To Us Block?It is a bit too big and is stretching the forums.
It should be equal to the width of the Column 1 of blocks on Portal.
The left and right columns should be of equal size.

the stats block in the portal is sorted at the test forum waiting for some inprovements and stuff before moving it to here or sumwer.

It looks a bit bare to me.

I have suggested that Filed name should be in gold color or in bold at least.Also it would be great if you rename it to 'our community' and add the name of the Forum.

Also pls reduce the size of the Link To Us Block.

Can i get admin status on this test forum maybe? We should create a new layout idea for the portal on the test site and move it over. U know not all the information we ahve will need to go on the portal anymore if we are getting HTMl pages added. We should create a professional layout.

I've fixed the portal block (link to us).

The test forum portal block (stats) now says our community and has the forum name in it and i've changed the colours around a bit. Also added days online with a little hover over magic.

More ideas welcome
