For those who like to use ingame voice com...

I like to anounce that i started to host a voice com Ventrilo server wich can be used by anyone in AoF.

Communication is one of the key elements of online gaming. And to talk to each other is less stressful than typing your fingers wound while you play the game at the same time. It steals concentration as well. Also it helps to actually learn about the guys you play with and maybe you make friends in RL. I actually met several ppl in RL wich i talked to on voice com before.

I hope many of you make use of it. Its up from now on. Its limited to 25 slots atm, but if need comes i will upgrade it to more.

All you need is Ventrilo client 3.01 to be downloaded here...

install it and etablish a new connection name it whatever you want and add...

Hostname or IP = vent12.gameservers.com

Port Number = 4387

Password = no password needed. We keept it public for now.

I got some channels for the different games already setup. If their is need of more no problem. If the different game channels will be used frequently, i will assign channel admins as well as server admins.

As for now, there will be just a simple guidlines to use AoF Ventrilo

1.) No profanity. We understand that the occasional "F-Bomb" gets dropped in moments of frustration, but excessive use of profanity will get you kicked and, possibly, banned

2.) Do what the admins and channel admins ask you to do.

3.) We only have 25 slots atm so guests might occasionally get kicked to make room for AoF members. Don't take it personally.

4.) If you get kicked and were not given a reason or possibly didn't hear the reason given for the kick, visit our forums and leave a message in the forum.

5.) Test your mic level before joining the server. If it's your first time on the server, introduce yourself first and then ask for a radio check. Adjust your settings accordingly.

6.) Ventrilo passwords are confidential information. You are not to give it out to anyone! Please refer people who have password requests to the forums or an admin/moderator.

7.) Respect each other. We all come on ventrilo to have fun, and hang out with people we like, not to complain about this or that.
And while ventrilo is a place we all should be able to share with one another when we have a problem in our real lives, that we just need to get off of our chest, lately it has been getting to the point where things have gone a bit far.

If you have a problem with a person and that person comes onto ventrilo as well, take that person aside and find a solution you both can live with, don't involve everyone on ventrilo. If you can't figure it out on your own, ask one of the admins or someone you trust to be impartial to mediate.

Humour and joking is obviously allowed, but hateful and derogatory comments will not be tolerated.

Now have fun. The server is up 24/7 and pro hosted.

once u logged in, ill see it on the log, even if ur not online. Then i can assign a rank and pw. Then you should b good to go. Youll see it when u got a rank in brackets in front of ur name.

I have put a download link and server ID and port number as a widget on the homepage/portal. It is in column 1 under the Void Teamspeak thing

Server starts getting busy already, as members start signing up. There are channels for every game. When u get on i also will assign specuial channel admins, just like the chain of command in the games. Leaders have the choices.

You can also invite any friends if you like for now. Server isnt pw protected atm.
